The press were allowed to observe for 30 minutes.  In addition, Sergio Ramos talked to the media for the first time this season.   The team arrived around 3pm and headed to the gym to change into their kits.  They returned and started the training session at 4pm. The most notable item was that the crowd yelled, “Kaka, Kaka!” to Alvaro Morata.  (I really do not see the resemblance other […]

However, his career is on hold at Ewood Park as he is in dispute with the club. His manager, Steve Kean, […]

As a La Liga manager spoke, very few listened as the press had their story. A question had been asked. What was the difference between this Athletic Bilbao team and the one from a year ago? The direct answer to that question wasn’t the interesting part but it was when the Coach turned to speak about Caparros when Viva La Liga’s ears listened up.   ‘Caparros is one of the best managers in Spain, his only problem is that […]

Last Saturday I had the privilege of attending a one hour documentary on El Clásico here in the Los Angeles area.  The movie was initated and developed by Chico State Alumni and film maker Kelly Candaele, along with a group of students from Chico State University.  The film was shot on location in Madrid and Barçelona and delved into Spanish history, culture and identity through the greatest rivalry in the world, that of Barçelona and Real Madrid. The film approached the […]

As part of the Mourinho’s new policy of bringing in younger players into the club, today the press conference focused on Karim Benzema and young Rafael Varane. Rafa is only 18 years old, with one senior year at Lens under his belt was a surprise signing, recommended by new sporting director, Zinedine Zidane. He is a central defender, but can also play as defensive midfielder and sweeper. His parents are from Martinique in the Carribbean. Rafa is a very soft […]

Post game day and the squad gets to relax a bit and take it easy. Only one training session required, along with the daily press conference. The media was only allowed to watch training for 15 minutes. Mou continues to control the press as much as possible. The first fifteen minutes was predominantly stretching exercises. As we waited for the press conference, news arrived that Sergio Ramos left training early as a precautionary measure for back spasms. Alvaro Arbeloa also […]
