At Forza Futbol we like to bring you the latest news and press from all parts of Spain. Here’s the latest news from the Round 12:
Superdeporte (Communitat Valencia)
Tino (Costa) breaks ‘Everdependencia’: He decided the derby with his pass/assist to Jordi Alba and his free kick (goal). He was far superior in the midfield alongside Albelda over Levante’s Iborra & Xavi Torres.
Villa again substitute: El Guaje again is left out of the starting eleven in a week that Superdeporte uncovered his poor relationship with Messi.
Reactions: The first story is some good news for Los Che fans. Tino Costa is fitting in well for the injured Ever Banega, in additionbragging rights are in order for beating their neighbors’ Levante across town away.
This week Superdeporte broke the story that Villa and Messi don’t get along and claim that this is affecting the dressing room and play on the pitch. Messi and Pep have refuted these claims and Villa refuses to talk about it, as he says it is a non issue. Why would a club in Valencia want to destabilize Barca is the question coming out of Catalunya? Interesting, that this particular newspaper won’t let this story die. I for one, think it is a bunch of hot air. Villa is carrying a minor hair line fracture and the FCB squad is trying to rest certain players and rotate the squad with so many games. We shall see.
El Correo del Andalusia (Sevilla)
Marcellino’s plan fails to fire on all cylinders. Four consecutive games without a win. 3 points out of 12, for a team that aspires to compete in the Champions League.
Another way to buy Giovani Dos Santos, purchase 50% of the player. The Mexican International wants to play at Sevilla at all costs. He has suggested a 50% buyout with Tottenham and Sevilla.
The big problem with Betis is under the surface. The defense has improved, a nil nil draw has brought the worst losing streak in their history to an end. The team still lacks goals, but was finally able to keep a clean sheet.
Joaquin: “There will be another opportunity for me to return to Betis.’ ‘I just turned thirty and I am a bull’, claimed the ex Betico on Malaga’s visit to el Benito Viiamarin this past weekend.
Reactions: I don’t blame the Sevilla press for being a little worried with Marcellino’s tactics, the recent injuries, form and lack of goals with el Nervion. The need for another striker in the winter transfer is still a key issue. Odd Del Nido said that Giovani Dos Santos was not an option, but the Sevilla press keeps mentioning him. I get the feeling that he will be a Sevillista in January.
Meanwhile across town, Beticos breathe a sigh of relief as their team grinded out a point against big, bad Malaga, though their is a vast amount of room for improvement. Joaquin just arrived at Malaga but he is making ‘come hither’ eyes at his old club. Hilarious.
Deia (Basque Country):
Messi saves Barca in injury time with his first goal in San Mames 2-2.
Amorebieta and Iturraspe will not play against Sevilla. (Due to cards and suspensions received in the Barca game.)
Muniain is the the striker who has received the most fouls (in La Liga).
Reactions: The big match against Barca is pasted across the Basque sport headlines and pages. The community are very proud of the team’s performances, but are still demanding protection for the little genius called Muniain. I really don’t blame then there. I would hate to lose the magician to serious injury.
